Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryROSE T. TARAS (nee KAHLER) Born July 23, 1928 Died June 7, 2003 After a long, courageous battle with cancer, Mom translated or passed away at the age of 74 years on June 7, 2003. With her loving family at her side, at her residence in Pineridge, MB, Mom willingly left this world to find her earned place in the inner worlds. Mom will be very sadly missed by her children, Bob, (Lorraine) Betty and Barry (Christine). Mom also leaves to cherish her memory 13 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; daughter-in-law Sharon; brothers, Charlie (Betty), Eddie (Kay d.) Brian (Louise) and sisters, Pauline (Doug), Margaret (Raymond), Kay (Ken) as well as many nieces, nephews and good friends. Rose was predeceased by her husband Stanley in 1984; her parents, John and Chrystyna (Teenie) as well as her brother Peter. Mom was born and raised in the Ashern district of the Interlake. At the age of 13, her family sold the homestead and moved to Winnipeg residing in the north end until her marriage to Dad on June 12, 1948. Upon her marriage, she moved with her new husband to Pineridge living on the Taras family homestead. During their life together, Mom and Dad raised five children, Bob, Betty, Barry, Richard and Donald. Mom was an excellent seamstress and made many cloths for her five children. Also being a wonderful cook, every visitor did not leave without sitting down for something to eat. As the years went by, she got involved in many activities. Among them was 4H Club Leader, President of the Ladies Alter Society of St. Michaels Parish in Cooks Creek, member of the Winnipeg Horticultural Society, member of the Manitoba Rock and Mineral Club as well as a very busy craft teacher for the Transcona Seniors Club. Mom was owner of a catering business she named RSB Enterprises in partnership with her husband and daughter for a number of years. But Moms greatest enjoyment was doing crafts. She filled her house with a large variety of wonderful crafts. In time, she shifted all her creations into a small shop in her yard and opened business as RSB Crafts and Supplies. Mom was at her happiest sitting in her shop working on one of her originals and enjoying the many customers coming and going. At Moms request, cremation has taken place and a small memorial service for invited guests and family will take place at a later date. Flowers at gratefully declined but if family and friends so desire, a donation may be made to a charity of your choice. What makes a Mom so Wonderful Its really many things... Its her warmth and understanding And the happiness she brings, Its her kindness and her tenderness, Her sweet and patient ways, Her reassurance, welcome smile, And generous words of praise Its her constant way of caring From the very start... But most of all, its because She has a loving, golden heart. - Amanda Bradley
