Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryGERMANO COSTA JORGE TENENTE It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of our loving father and grandfather, Germano Costa Jorge Tenente on the twelfth of June, 2003 at 2:00 in the morning, at Seven Oaks Hospital with his family by his side. Germano will forever be remembered by his children, Olimpia and Manuel; daughters-in-law, Virtude (residing in Portugal), and Fatima; sons-in-law, Manuel Candeias and Augusto De Paula; grandchildren, Helena (Carlos), Jose Joaquim (Christina) (residing in Portugal), Paulo (Shelly), Anabella, Elizabeth, Julieta, Ana Lucia and Rita; great-grandchildren, Rodrigo and Carolina (residing in Portugal), Katarina and Natalia. Germano will also be remembered by his brothers, sister-in-law, nephews and nieces, whom all reside in Portugal. Germano will be rejoining his adored wife Maria de Jesus; his much missed son and daughter Benjamin and Gloria Candeias; his brother Joaquim, and his sister Gloria Costa. Germano was born on September 27, 1912 in Rapoula do Coa, Sabugal of the district of Guarda in Portugal. He immigrated to Winnipeg on May 10, 1973 to join his daughters, Gloria and Olimpia. He came here, along with his wife Maria de Jesus and his son Manuel, with whom he has lived with until his passing. This past year, Germano celebrated his 90th birthday with his loving family and his closest friends. He spent his entire life devoting himself to his family. His most cherished moments were spent gardening, visiting his beloved country of Portugal, and spending time with his family and friends. The family would like to send a special thank-you to all those caring friends who visited our loved one at home and in the hospital. We would also like to express gratitude to the staff at Seven Oaks Hospital on the 5th floor, Unit 2 for their dedication and care of our loved one. Prayers will be held on Tuesday, June 17 at 8:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, June 18 at 10:00 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church, 181 Austin Ave. with Rev. Fr. Jose Eduardo Medeiros officiating. Interment will take place in the cemetery of Germanos native town of Rapoula do Coa, Portugal. Active pallbearers are Abilio Batista, Luis Vicente, Eduardo Ponte, Jessie Oliveira, Steve Oliveira, and Jacinto Oliveira. You will forever be in our hearts, and the memory of you will never fade.
