Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJOHANNA (IWANNA) WAWRIN (nee SAMOLUK) Johanna (Iwanna) Wawrin (nee Samoluk), passed away peacefully at Health Sciences Centre, June 11, 2003. Born December 18, 1918 in Diadkowyczi, Poland. Immigrated to Canada June 1948. Johanna was predeceased by her husband Gregor in 1989. Johanna is survived by her sons, Eugen (Peggy Burns) of Toronto, Bohdan (Elaine Harman-Wawrin) of Winnipeg and grandson Matthew, also of Winnipeg. Johanna is also mourned by her sister, Lucy Stolarski of Brantford, ON. Before arriving in Canada, she and her husband lived in a German work camp, where Johanna was in charge of child care in the resident nurseries. Highly regarded by her friends, Johanna excelled at raising two things, children and gardens. Besides her company, friends and neighbours will miss the beautiful results of her green thumbs. An active church member, Johanna worked extensively in the Womens Auxiliary Leagues of both Christ the King Church and Sts. Vladimir and Olga Cathedral. Prayers will be held Sunday, June 15, 7:00 p.m. at Korban Funeral Chapel, 907 Main St. Funeral will be held Monday, June 16, 10:00 a.m. at St. Vladimir and Olga Cathedral, 115 McGregor St. Interment at All Saints Cemetery, 4515 Main St., West St. Paul. Flowers gratefully declined, however, if friends so desire, donations may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Society. Special thanks to Dr. T.
