SOPHIE VICTORIA GAGAWCHUK (nee FRANSSEN) It is with deep sadness the family announces the passing of Sophie Gagawchuk suddenly on Tuesday, June 10, 2003 at the age of 82 years. She will be lovingly remembered and survived by her sons, Bill (Bonnie), Leslie (Jane), Roy, and her daughter Roseanne; grandchildren, Darcee, Haley and Megan, and brother Alfred Franssen. Sophie was born in Turtle Mountain in 1920 and moved to Killarney in 1934 to work. In 1950 she met and married William Gagawchuk. In 1957 the family moved to East Braintree, MB where Sophie stayed and raised her family. Sophie was a loving mother and grandmother who enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren. She moved to Winnipeg in 1997 where she stayed until her passing. Funeral Service will be held Tuesday, June 17 at 1:00 p.m. at Garry Memorial Funeral Home, 1291 McGillivray Blvd., with Pastor Jerry Spoors. The family would like to thank the staff and friends at Autumn House, the staff at Health Sciences Centre, Garry Memorial Funeral Home and Pastor Jerry Spoors. Flowers gratefully accepted.
