ARTHUR DOUGLAS MCLENNAN August 24, 1919 - June 12, 2003 Peacefully, on Thursday, June 12, 2003, Arthur Douglas McLennan passed away at the St. Boniface Hospital at the age of 83 years. Douglas was born in Fort Frances, ON to Judge and Mrs. Allan McLennan. He was predeceased by his first wife Joan (ODonnell) sons, Hugh Douglas and Tony; brothers, Judge Lawrence McLennan and Murray McLennan and by his sister Jean Hamner. He is survived by his loving wife Molly; son Ian; granddaughter Saylor; daughter-in-law Heather and nieces, Joanne, Beverly, Barbara and Ruth. Douglas had his primary education in Fort Frances, ON.; secondary education in Fort Frances and New Liskard, ON.; post secondary education at Victoria College, University of Toronto and Osgoode Hall, Toronto. He served his country in the Second World War as an officer in the Canadian Artillery. He followed a family tradition in ably serving his community as a lawyer, Crown Attorney and Judge of the Provincial Court of Ontario. In 1988, he married Molly (Phair) and they were able to enjoy his retirement together in Winnipeg from 1989 to the present. Funeral mass in celebration of Douglas life will be held at the St. Ignatius Roman Catholic Church, Stafford St. at Corydon Ave., on Monday, June 16 at 12:00 p.m. Rev. Father Joseph C. Johnson S.J. will officiate. The service will terminate at the church. Private interment will take place in the family plot at the Holy Cross Cemetery in Fort Frances, ON., at a later date.
