Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryERNEST EDWARD SAMUEL SAUNDERS Peacefully on June 12, 2003, Ernie, aged 78 years passed away at the St. Boniface Hospital. His memory will be cherished by his son Ernie and daughter-in-law Kim of Delta, BC and stepson Garry and daughter-in-law Marcy of Winnipeg; and fondly remembered by family and friends. Ernie was born August 24, 1924 in Winnipeg. He proudly served in the Royal Canadian Navy as a submarine detector during the Second World War. He played and enjoyed both hockey and baseball. Ernie was a proud member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch No. 252 (97). An avid supporter of the Manitoba Free Masons and Khartum Shriners, as he was very proud that both boys are active members. A "Celebration of Life" to be held from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. on Monday, June 16 at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch No. 252 (97), 426 Osborne St. Our family would like to express sincere thanks for the compassion and support given by Sara Grover Smith and the staff of the Palliative Care Unit, St. Boniface Hospital.
