ANNIE "MARIE" SWEET (nee HOWELL) Peacefully, on Thursday, June 12, 2003 at the Seven Oaks Hospital, Marie Sweet, beloved wife of William, passed away at the age of 79 years. Left to cherish her memory is her loving husband Bill; daughters, Pat (Carl), Dorothy (Bill), Debbie (Larry), Sharon (Brian) and Bev (Paul) son-in-law Norman and daughter-in-law Diana; 13 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. Marie was predeceased by her daughter Joan; son Lawrence; son-in-law Bob; her parents Arthur and Annie and sisters, Mae, Tina, Frances and Shirley. Marie was born and raised on a farm in the Millbrook area. She met Bill when he came to the farm to help with the harvest. They were married in 1943 and moved to Ostenfield, where they still reside. Marie loved to dance, play cards, work in her garden and spend time with her grandchildren. She was a strong and loving woman who was the backbone of her family. She was loved especially for her kindness and warm heart. We will all miss her but know she is safe in the arms of her children in heaven. Funeral service will be held on Monday, June 16 at 1:30 p.m. in Green Acres Funeral Chapel, Hwy. #1 East at Navin Road. Viewing will be held one half hour prior to the service. Interment will follow in Green Acres Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be her grandsons. In lieu of flowers, donation may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, 200 - 6 Donald St. Winnipeg, MB R3L 0K6.
