GEORGE HENRY WAGNER March 23, 1930 - June 15, 2003 Peacefully, with his family at his side, George passed away on Sunday, June 15, 2003, at Selkirk and District General Hospital. George leaves to mourn his loving wife of 50 years, Florence Flo; sons, Wayne (Bunny), Scott (Ramona) grandchildren, Heather and Sandra; sister-in-law Beverley Mitchler; and many relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his parents, Jean and Henry. George was born in St. Boniface, and lived all his life in Winnipeg and St. Andrews. He worked for C. P. Rail for over 40 years, as well as selling manufactured homes for North American Lumber, Beaver Lumber and Muttart Homes for a number of years. In 1956, he found property, at Pointe du Bois, where together with family and friends he built a cottage, which he very much enjoyed and was proud of. George and Flo were fortunate to travel to many wonderful places, especially the last few years going to Port Aransas, TX where they made many good friends. George was a member of Khartum Shrine, 101 Unit. He enjoyed participating in the annual parades and the Shrine Circus, as well as selling tickets for CNIB and the Salvation Army. He was a member of Beaver Lodge No. 139 and was also a volunteer driver for the Canadian Cancer Society for 11 years. A special thank you to all those who were so kind and caring to George and the family during his illness, the doctors, nurses, home care nurses, the many at CancerCare, Health Sciences Centre and the Palliative Care Unit at Selkirk Hospital. Respecting Georges wishes, cremation has taken place and a private service will be held. In lieu of flowers donations in Georges memory may be made to CancerCare Manitoba, 675 McDermot Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3E 0V9, or Selkirk and District Hospital, Palliative Care Unit, 100 Easton Dr., Selkirk, MB R1A 2M2.
