JAMES RUSSELL FARQUHARSON James passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 17, 2003 at the Deer Lodge Centre, at the age of 87. James will be lovingly remembered by his son Chris and his wife Peggy and their children, Christie and Carla; and his son Darrell and his wife, Jackie. Also, he will be missed by his sisters, Ethel Pearson and Grace Johnston. James was predeceased by Mamie, his wife of 51 years, in 2001. James was also predeceased by his parents, Edward and Sarah (nee Travis) Farquharson; and his siblings, George, Daisy, and Ted Farquharson many years ago. James was born in Morden on September 3, 1915. During the Second World War, he served as a Corporal. James spent many happy vacations fishing with his family. Also, he was active in swimming, curling and cycling. James enjoyed his family life with Mamie and their children. The family would like to give a special thank you to the T7 Staff at Deer Lodge Centre for their excellent care. If friends so desire, memorial donations may be made to the Deer Lodge Centre, Tower 7, 2109 Portage Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3J 0L3. Funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 21 at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave. Viewing will be held one half-hour prior to the service and a reception will follow the service in the Chapel Lawn Reception Centre.
