Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryLILLIAN ALICE SHORT (nee BENTHAM) Lillian Short, aged 91 years, peacefully passed away on June 16, 2003 at the Fort Garry Care Centre. She has now joined her husband Edmund who predeceased her in 1992. Lillian was predeceased by her brothers, Harry, Robert, Charles, Stan; and sister Freda. She is survived by her niece and goddaughter Susan and husband Brian and son Ryan Ehnes; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Lillian was born on April 21, 1912 to Elizabeth and Robert Bentham and spent her early years in Winnipeg. Shortly after marrying Ed in 1947, they moved to Vancouver. Together they took special pride in their flower gardens, and enjoyed wine making, square dancing, golfing, bowling, travelling and entertaining their family and many friends that visited them "at the coast". After Eds passing in 1992, she returned to Winnipeg, to spend her remaining years with her family. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff at the Fort Garry Care Centre for their love and care. A memorial service will be held Friday, June 20 at 1:00 p.m. at the Garry Memorial Funeral Home, 1291 McGillivray Blvd., with Pastor Richard Quiring officiating. She will be laid to rest with her husband in Oak River, MB in a private ceremony at a later date. In lieu of flowers, should friends so desire, donations may be made in Lillians memory to a charity of ones choice.
