Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryWINNIE STEPHENS 1911 - 2003 The family of Winnie Stephens aged 92 late of 1103 Mulvey Ave. and the Misericordia Place Care Facility are sorry to advise of her passing on June 16, 2003 at the Victoria Hospital in Winnipeg. Winnie was predeceased by her first husband Leslie Robinson and her husband of 27 years, Vaughan Stephens; sisters Bertha Milligan (Bill), Jacqueline Pace (Seymour), Edith Holfeld (Alex), Joan Vance (Jack) brothers Arthur Swann (Sylvia), Harry Schwab (Joyce), Ron Schwab (Madeline). Winnie is survived by her brother Ed Schwab (Lucia) and sisters-in-law Joyce Schwab (Harry) of Portland, OR. and Sylvia Swann (Art) of Edmonton; brother-in-law William Stephens of Edmonton, AB., many nieces and nephews in Canada and the United States. Winnie was born in the Ukraine in 1911, immigrating with her family to Canada, settling in Melville, SK., then in Winnipeg. Winny was employed with the T. Eaton Co. for 40 years. Upon retirement, she and Vaughan enjoyed many trips to Europe and Hawaii. Winnie was a loving, good living person who adored her family, friends, neighbours and her church. She was active in her community, enjoying bowling, card clubs and lawn bowling with her friends and family. Winnie celebrated her 92nd birthday at Grapes restaurant in April, 2003. Special thanks to the staff of Victoria General Hospital, Misericordia Health Centre and Misericordia Place for their kindness and care given Winnie this past year. A memorial service will be held at St. Marks Lutheran Church, 600 Cambridge St. at Corydon Ave. in Winnipeg on Monday, June 23 at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Marks Church or the Salvation Army gratefully accepted.
