MARJORIE HELEN HERMANSON (MURDOCH)
Date of Passing: Jun 18, 2003
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMARJORIE HELEN HERMANSON (nee MURDOCH) Peacefully on June 18, 2003 at the Selkirk General Hospital, Marjorie Hermanson, aged 81 years. The Lord chose a beautiful summer day to call our mother, grandmother, and wife, home to him. Marge was born in Saskatoon, SK. and eventually moved to Petersfield, MB. where she met Harold and married at age 30. The first time they met and shared a dance was at the old Petersfield Hall which they later bought and converted to the home they lived in and raised their three children. Mom taught us so much about life throughout the time she was in our lives. She worked in homecare for a number of years. She had a passion for gardening and had a green thumb for growing beautiful houseplants. She had a love for birds and always had birdfeeders just outside the kitchen window where she could watch them. In particular, she loved hummingbirds. Always she had at least one cat in her home. We saw her love for reading and listening to Scottish and classic music. She loved her home and was always there for us. She was known for her Christmas and Thanksgiving dinners in which her pies were in high demand. She participated in the sport of curling, and she was an avid reader. She enjoyed doing crosswards, puzzles, and enjoyed being with her family so much she would watch any movie with you. Her many loves in life became a part of our lives. She is survived by her husband Harold; her children Pat (Connie), Robert (Linda), and Nancy; 12 grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. She was one of eight children, and leaves one brother, Jack, and one sister, Joyce. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Alzheimers Society of MB., 10-120 Donald St., Winnipeg, R3C 4G2. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 25 at Gilbart Funeral Chapel, Selkirk. Gilbart Funeral Home, Slekirk, in care of arrangements.
