Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJOHN (JACK) RICHARDSON SCOTT Born in Fort William, ON on May 15, 1925. Jack passed away peacefully at Cottonwoods Care Home in Kelowna on June 16, 2003 after a short illness. He is survived by Betty, his loving wife of 55 years, daughters, Linda (Bill Thompson) of Calgary, Wendy Strachan of Regina, and Nancy (Gordon Penner) of Port Moody; grandchildren, Erin, Jeffrey, Lindsay, Scott, Leah and Patrick; sister Vera Sisson (Ray) of Regina; and brother-in-law Robert Girvin of London, ON; as well as many nieces and nephews. His daughter Barbara predeceased him in 2002. Jack was a veteran and served in the navy aboard the HMS Trentonian from 1943 to 1945. He has been a Legion member for 60 years and has enjoyed continued friendships with many comrades. His career in the CPR Police spanned 35 years, retiring as a Winnipeg Inspector in 1985. Jack and Betty established homes in Fort William, Regina, Winnipeg and finally Westbank, BC, making friends along the way. They have enjoyed a retirement that included winters in Texas, travelling, and ten years at Crystal Springs retirement park. As a husband, a father and a good friend to many, Jack will always be loved and sadly missed. The family would like to thank Dr. B. Lewke, and the home care and palliative care services of Westbank and Kelowna. A memorial service will be held at the Chapel of First Memorial Funeral Services, 1211 Sutherland Ave., Kelowna, BC on Saturday, June 21 at 2:00 p.m. In memory of Jack, donations can be made to the Diabetes Association or a charity of your choice.
