ANNA CATHERINE DOUGLAS (nee FIFE) November 2, 1916 - June 18, 2003 Anna Catherine "Kay" Douglas, aged 86 years, beloved wife of Donald George Douglas, peacefully passed away on June 18, 2003 at Deer Lodge Centre. Kay, as everyone knew her, was born in Bresaylor, SK on November 2, 1916, daughter of Rev. Frederick James Fife and Eleanor Fife. She attended Normal School, and met her future husband in a physics lab at the University of Saskatchewan. Kay and Don were married in Toronto in 1941, and lived in Montreal while Don attended McGill University. In 1951, the family moved to Winnipeg. Kay was a loving wife and mother, calm and sweet, and she made the best pies ever. She loved reading all her life, enjoyed oil painting, was a faithful member of the congregation at St. James Anglican Church, and also volunteered for the Red Cross. Kay was predeceased by her parents; her brothers, Frederick, Jack, and Bob; and her youngest son Donnie. She is survived by her loving family, husband Don; sister Eleanor; daughter Sylvia Li and her husband Robert Li; son Robert Douglas and his wife Marie DIorio; grandsons, Max Douglas, and Christopher Li and his wife Julia; granddaughters, Sonia Douglas, and Rosemary Li-Houpt and her husband Simon Houpt; and Kays great-grandson Sascha Houpt. We will all miss her. A funeral service will take place on Sunday, June 22, at 2:00 p.m. in the St. James Anglican Church, 195 Collegiate St., with The Venerable David J. Pate officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Kays memory to the charity of your choice. LEATHERDALE GARDINER Funeral Chapel 1858 Portage Avenue 949-4872
