LENORE ERICKSON On June 19, 2003 at the Beausejour Hospital, Lenore, dearly beloved wife of Emil Erickson and mother of Lisa and Mark Erickson, passed away peacefully at the age of 49. Lenore is also survived by her parents, Edna and Marino Gudmundson; her two sisters Karen (Larry) Erickson and Trudi (Dwayne) Sigfusson and her brother, Barry Gudmundson; and many dear friends and relatives. Lenore was born in Eriksdale on November 6, 1953. Lenore and Emil were married in Winnipeg on January 15, 1972 and in 1976, they settled in Beausejour where they raised their two children. Lenores humility and faith shone through her loving commitment to family, friends and service. Her numerous volunteer activities included cancer support, hospital visitation and palliative care. She strove not only to support patients and their families but also to empower them. In 1996, Lenore was honoured by the Lieutenant Governor for her commitment to the Canadian Cancer Societys "Reach & Recovery and CanSurmount"; in 2001, she received an award for volunteer excellence from Beausejour Hospital Palliative Care; and in 2002, she was nominated for the Premiers Volunteer Service Award. Lenore was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and a supporter of Jobs Daughters. Special thanks to the staff and volunteers at the Beausejour Hospital for their gentle care and to all the friends and family who provided unwavering support. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, 193 Sherbrook St., Winnipeg, MB R3C 9Z9. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, June 24, 2003 , at 2:00 p.m. at the Sobering Funeral Chapel, Park Ave. East, Beausejour with Pastor Mark Koenker officiating.
