Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryIRENE MARGARET PROSSER Born January 17, 1919 at Fairford, MB. Died June 18, 2003 at Deer Lodge Centre, Winnipeg, MB. So stark when you put it that way, but in-between those two events was a wonderful life which could be summarized in one sentence: She put God first, accepted graciously what life gave her and exercised charity toward all. Irene married John Patrick Prosser in April 1957. A most perfect wife who complimented her husband in every way, yet kept a very definite and distinct identity of her own. Always serene and dignified, never judgemental. Cheerful, industrious and generous. Proof that one need not be well-educated or wealthy to be a success in life. She was a steadfast member of the Anglican Church both in Winnipeg for about 50 years (St. Mathews) and in Fairford for 18 years (St. Helens). Most of her life was spent in Winnipeg where she excelled as a seamstress including 15 years at Misericordia Hospital. She retired to Gypsumville for 18 years before returning to Winnipeg. Irene was predeceased by her parents, Charles and Isabella Moar; brothers, Alexander, Hebron and Arnold; and sisters, Lilly Clemons (Jack) and Christina Shabaga (Mike). She is survived by her sister Helen Letendre (Clare) sister-in-law Barbara Prosser; brother-in-law David Prosser (Peggy) many nieces and nephews and a host of other close friends. Memorial services at Thomson Funeral Chapels, 669 Broadway, Winnipeg, on Tuesday, June 24 at 1:00 p.m. Interment to follow at St. Vital Cemetery. Rev. Canon Ron McCullough officiating. The family would like to thank all Irenes caregivers, especially June. Friends are invited to make donations in her memory to the charity of their choice.
