JAMES ARKLE After a courageous battle with cancer, Jim passed away in Richmond, BC, on June 12, 2003. Jim was predeceased by his parents, Fred and Margaret, and is survived by his wife of 45 years, Evelyn; his sister Joyce (Ken) his sons, James (Pat) and Robert (Mary) his daughters, Patricia (Nelson) and Traci (Michael) and his five grandsons and five granddaughters. Jim was born in Winnipeg in 1932 and joined the Royal Canadian Navy in 1950 serving aboard the HMCS Crusader during the Korean conflict. Jim became a firefighter after being released from the navy and after a distinguished career of 32 years, retired as Firechief, Banff/Lake Louise, AB. A private service was held in Vancouver, BC. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Firefighters Burn Fund.
