BILL (WILLIAM JOHN) FREEMAN On June 19, 2003, in his 54th year, after a courageous battle with cancer. He died peacefully at home with his family at his side. Bill enjoyed his family, the Goldeyes, KY58 and meeting friends for coffee at Barney Gargles in Selkirk. He also loved to read and to travel, and took great pleasure in his vacation to Australia last year. Everyone who met Bill knew that he was a strong, kind person with a quick wit and a wry smile. His warmth and his ready support will be sorely missed. Throughout his life, Bill was always growing and learning, from his experiences in the Air Force, to his interest in computer programming, culminating with his work at Berdex Canada. He is survived by his beloved fiancee Pamela; his sons, Jason and Mark; his brothers George (Laurie), Doug (Sherri), Chuck (Linda), and Reg; his sisters Karen (Mike), Deb (Detlef) and Julie; his half-sisters Helen and Bobbie; his granddaughter Alexa; many nieces and nephews; and his numerous friends, including Ken, Cyrena, and Marlene. He was predeceased by his father, Robert and his mother, Sylvia. Special thanks to Jo Duffy and the caring staff of the Palliative Care - Family Medicine Program. Also to Dr. Cavett as well as everyone at CancerCare Manitoba, especially Jane Olsen and Kathy Klatt. Bill has requested cremation, and will be lovingly honored at a memorial service on Tuesday, June 24 at 2 p.m. at the Gilbart Funeral Home, 309 Eveline St. in Selkirk, MB.
