MARGARET (PEGGY) MOSS (nee BLACK) September 3, 1917 - June 19, 2003 Peggy passed away peacefully at her home in Gimli, MB on Thursday, June 19, 2003. She is lovingly remembered by sons, Ron (Lynne) and David (Chris) grandchildren, Glen (Illa) and Kara (Chris), Jennifer and Jamie (Marilee) great-grandchildren, Coral, Ryan, Max, Nikko; and step grandchildren, Stephanie and Kristine. Peggy was predeceased by her husband Len in 1996, her brother and sister-in-law Jack and Jessie Black. She was born in Winnipeg to Frank and Elizabeth Black on September 3, 1917 and grew up in the Weston area where she met her husband and made many lifelong friends. After graduation from Daniel McIntyre Collegiate and business college she commenced working for Travellers Insurance Co. until her marriage. After her sons were in school Peggy worked for Woods Catering and then for the Canadian Wheat Board, retiring in 1977. Len and Peggy enjoyed many happy years and special times with family and friends at their cottage at Ingolf, ON. In later years Peggy was involved with McBeth and Bleak House Centres seniors groups. Her wonderful crafts, knitting and making all types of decorations were her passions. She lovingly shared these treasures with her family. She also travelled extensively with the North Centennial Seniors group. Her family was her pride and joy and we shall all miss her love, generosity and vivaciousness. A celebration of her life will be held Monday, June 23 at 3:00 p.m., Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave. Officiating at the service will be Rev. Ted Hicks. Pallbearers will be Glen Moss, Jamie Moss, Dan McNaughton, Donald Paterson, Wayne McConnell and Chris Merrithew. In lieu of flowers, charitable donations can be made in Peggys memory to the Canadian Diabetes Association, 102 - 310 Broadway, Winnipeg, MB R3C 0S6 or to the Heart and Strike Foundation of Manitoba, 200 - 6 Donald St., Winnipeg, MB R3L 0K6.
