Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryKIYOKO WATANABE It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of our dear mother, grandmother and great-grandmother Kiyoko Watanabe on June 20, 2003 at Vista Park Lodge. She was born in Fukushima Ken, Japan on August 26, 1911. She married Naochi Watanabe on October 29, 1931. Soon after their marriage they moved to Canada, and raised a family, first settling in Duncan, BC, and later, in 1942 moving to Manitoba, eventually making Winnipeg their home. Kiyoko was predeceased by her husband in 1988; two sons-in-law, Gordon Kinoshita and Ed Hill; one daughter-in-law Heather Watanabe. She is lovingly remembered by her four sons, Ken, Gerry and wife Ita of Ottawa, Henry, and Arthur; her five daughters, Lily and husband Kanao Yamamoto, Donna and husband Mac Yamamoto, Rita of Smiths Falls, Alice and Joan. 15 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren and one sister Kimie Shirakura of Japan, also cherish her memory. Respecting her wishes, a private family service will take place with Rev. F. Ulrich of the Manitoba Buddhist Church presiding. Interment will follow in Green Acres Memorial Gardens. The family would like to extend their heartfelt appreciation to the staff of Vista Park Lodge for their care and support.
