WALTER JANCZYN December 11, 1925 - June 22, 2003 Walter Janczyn, aged 77 years, beloved husband and friend of Lena, passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 22, 2003 after a brief but courageous battle with cancer. Besides his wife; he will also be lovingly remembered by his daughters, Debbie (Rick) Sinclair of Oakbank and their children, Lauren and Evan; Bonnie (Barry) Schmidtke and their children, Brandon and Tana of Beausejour; his sisters, Jean (Walter), Sheila (John), Stella; and his brother Barry (Janice). He was predeceased by his parents, Nick and Mary; and his brother Rudolph. Walter was born and raised in the Rural Municipality of Brokenhead. He married Lena Stefaniuk on May 28, 1955 and together they ran the family farm for five years. In 1960, they moved to Winnipeg where Walter worked on several construction jobs. He and his wife then owned and operated a coffee catering business, which they ran for 12 years in the eastern part of Winnipeg, Transcona, Birds Hill and the Pine Ridge gravel pits. Walter started work with the River East School Division in 1974, retiring in January 1991. During his years of retirement, he enjoyed spending time with the "boys" having coffee at the Garden City Mall. He loved and was very proud of his four grandchildren and supported all of their endeavors. Dad had an incredible amount of strength, dignity, pride and a great sense of humour. Friends may view on Tuesday (tonight), June 24 from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Sobering Funeral Chapel, Beausejour. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, June 25 at 11:00 a.m., also at the chapel with Rev. Roland Rendell presiding. Interment will follow at the Beausejour Town Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Walter may be made to the Winnipeg Humane Society, 5 Kent St., Winnipeg, MB R2L 1X3, or a charity of ones choice. You were always there when we needed you, No task too great or small With loving heart and willing hand, For us, you did them all. Thanks for the years you gave us, And for the times we shared, We know that when you left us You knew how much we cared. God saw you getting tired When a cure was not to be, He put His arms around you And said, "Come unto Me."
