Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMURRAY BREWSTER Murray Parker Brewster passed away peacefully, after a lengthy illness, at Lake of the Woods District Hospital, Kenora, ON, on Monday, May 26, 2003. He was born in Transcona, MB on April 10, 1925. He was predeceased by his parents, four siblings, and son Tom in 1996. Murray is survived by his wife Adelaide of Kenora; his three sons and daughters-in-law, Gregg and Edna, Dave and Mary Jane, and Allan and Rose, all from Regina, SK and Carol from Dallas, TX; nine grandchildren, Michelle, Jeffrey, Jennifer, Kim, Crystal, Katherine, Patrick, John and Alexandra; and great-grandchildren, Ricci, Kieren, Jane, Grace, and Cole. Murray served in the Royal Canadian Navy in the Second World War. He returned to continue working for the Canadian National Railway, moving with his family from Transcona to Rainy River, Sioux Lookout, Melville and back to Transcona where he retired in 1985. Murray and Addie moved to Kenora in 1989. Murray was a member of the Masonic Lodge, the Shriner Khartum Temple Drum and Bugle Corps, Royal Canadian Legion, and in later years joined the New Horizons Senior Club and Club Day Away in Kenora. Murray enjoyed spending time at their cottage on the Winnipeg River near Kenora, fishing, travelling and playing bridge with friends. Murray and Addie spent winters in Victoria and Tucson, AZ upon their retirement. He was an active curler and golfer and member of the Kenora Curling and Golf and Country Clubs. Murray will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by family and friends. Upon cremation, a memorial service was held at the Kenora Knox United Church on Thursday, May 29. Interment will be at the Transcona Cemetery in Winnipeg on July 4 at 3:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Lake of the Woods District Hospital Foundation, CT Scan Fund, 21 Sylvan St., Kenora, ON P9N 3W7.
