Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryBETSY LORNA SWAIN October 28, 1962 - June 23, 2003 Peacefully, after a long and courageous battle with her illness, with her family by her side, Betsy Lorna Swain, age 40, passed away at Berens River on Monday, June 23. She will be lovingly remembered by her beloved mother, Maria; sisters, Brenda (Lindsay), Wanda (Francis), Mabel (Gerald), Rachel (Edward), and Susan; Brothers, Langford (Tracy), Doyle (Maureen), Mark, Lemuel (Ernestine), Percy (Emerance) and Shelly (Lorna) there are numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and relatives. Lorna was predeceased by her father, James Swain, on July 24, 2000; nephew Timothy Green, on April 10, 1994; nieces, Laurie Everett on August 26, 1989, and Margaret Swain on November 12, 1990. Wake services will be held at the Revival and Restoration Church on Tuesday, June 24, Wednesday, June 25, and Thursday, June 26. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, June 27, also at the the Revival and Restoration Church, Berens River with Pastor Oliver Everett officiating. Interment to follow at the Berens River Cemetery. Honorary pallbearers will be, Lindsay Semple Sr., Francis Hudson, Gerald Green, Edward Kemp, Lindsay Semple Jr. and William Hudson. Active Pallbearers will be her brothers, Langford, Doyle, Mark, Lemuel, Percy and Shelly Swain. The family would like to acknowledge and thank Martha Everette, Doris Mentuck, Yvonne Berens, Lorraine Ross; Dr. Iris McKeowen; Nurses, Jason Steel, Vivian Cook and Rita Stephanson; and the many friends and relatives, too numerous to mention for their support, care and compassion. During this difficult time we would also like to express our very sincere appreciation to her home maker Mrs. Lorna Swain.
