Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryDONALD BLANE WOLFE Peacefully at Gimli Community Health Centre on June 24, 2003 with family and friends at his side, Don passed away after a courageous battle with cancer. Predeceased by his stepfather, William Mozurat, he leaves to cherish his memory, his loving mother Tena; sisters, Yvonne and Dolores (Don) brothers, Marcel (Linda), Dennis and Gary; nieces, Christa, Meagan; nephews, Jared and Denny. Donald Blane Wolfe was born in Winnipeg in 1939. He received his education at Bazin School near Haywood, MB. Don left home early to join the Air Force. In 1958, he earned his wings from the Gimli Flying Club, something he cherished to the end. Don was known throughout Manitoba as a check-out pilot, specializing in floats. In 1966, he stopped in Gimli to see his old base and took a job with the Manitoba Liquor Control Commission. He became manager in 1975 and held that position until he retired in 1999. In 1983, Don started with the 182 GM Stefnufastur Cadet Squadron, a position he loved and served with dedication until 1994. There are many young men and women whose lives have been enriched by having had Don as a leader, mentor and role model. He will be missed by all who knew him. The family would like to thank the staff of the Gimli Community Health Centre, especially Julie Kumps and Dale Moroski, as well as special friends, Addie, Darlene and Kathy. Service will be held Monday, June 30 at 1:00 p.m. at the Gimli Legion. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Gimli Community Health Centre Healing Garden, P.O. Box 250, Gimli, MB R0C 1B0. Gilbart Funeral Chapel, Gimli in care of arrangements.
