WILDA A. CRONMILLER It is with deep sadness that the family announces the sudden passing of Wilda on June 24, 2003 at her residence at the age of 87. Wilda is survived by her two daughters, Diana and son-in-law Don Johnston and daughter Donna; brother Thomas (Hilda) Weber; sister Shirley (Dick) Godbehere of Vernon, BC,; sister-in-law Doreen Briggs of Teulon and many nieces and nephews. Wilda was predeceased by her husband Len in 2000 and her parents . Wilda was born on January 27, 1916 in Portage La Prairie and received her education there. She graduated from the University of Winnipeg in 1936 and the Faculty of Education in 1937. Wildas teaching career spanned many years and included positions in Oakville, Teulon, Portage La Prairie and Norberry School in Winnipeg from where she retired in 1974. Besides her career and family, Wilda was active in many service organizations over the years. She served as Past Counsellor Ladies Auxiliary United Commercial Travellers. She was an active member of the Khartum Ladies Auxiliary; Sphinx Temple #116 Daughters of the Nile; as well, a member of the Fez Ladies Bowling League. Wilda lived life to its fullest and was a tower of strength to her family and friends. Her enthusiasm for life and her constant selfless acts of kindness and support touched many. She will be deeply missed. The familys heartfelt thanks go to the many friends and acquaintances who have given their support and kind words during this difficult time. At Wildas request, cremation has taken place and a private family service will follow. In lieu of flowers, donations in Wildas memory may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Manitoba, Unit 10, 120 Donald St., Winnipeg, MB R3C 4G2, the Heart and Stroke Foundation, 301-352 Donald St., Winnipeg, MB R3B 2H8 or a charity of ones choice.
