MARGARET CHRISTIANIA COOK
Born: Oct 31, 1915
Date of Passing: Jun 26, 2003
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMARGARET CHRISTIANIA COOK October 31, 1915 - June 26, 2003 Peacefully on June 26, 2003 at West Park Manor. Margaret will be greatly missed by her daughter Joan Greenlay, son-in-law Terry, grandchildren Meghan and James and also her much loved Gendall family in Alberta and British Columbia. Mom was predeceased by Dad, Arthur C. Cook in 1981. Mom was a fun and loving person who came to be a wife and mother much later than was the norm in the 50s. She met Dad in Regina when he was there on frequent business trips. They fell in love quickly and got married in 1951. I was born in 1953 and Mom loved to tell stories, making fun of herself, about the trial and error ways she became a "stay at home" mom and an inventive cook. This was a huge adjustment for a career "gal". In later years she worked as the Registrar for the Diocese of Ruperts Land. She also was very active politically. Mom lived out her last five years in West Park Manor Personal Care Home. We would like to thank all the staff there for the love, consideration, care and patience that was shown to Mom during her time there. A celebration of Moms life will be conducted at the Church of St. Stephen and St. Bede by the Rev. Jamie Howison on July 2 at 1:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to the Church of St. Stephen and St. Bede (building fund), 99 Turner Ave, Winnipeg, MB R3J 2S9 or to West Park Manor, 3199 Grant Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3R 1X2.
