JOE DARE It is with great sadness the family announces the peaceful passing of our father and grandfather, Joe Dare Jr., aged 75 years, on Friday, June 27, 2003. He was predeceased by his parents, Joe Sr. and Ling Shee Dare, his first wife, and his wife of 27 years, Gwen Dare. He leaves to mourn his four children, Gary (Ingrid) of Portland, OR, Janice (Gerald), Glen and Jennifer all of Winnipeg; his very dear grandchildren, Matthieu and Chantal, as well as several special family members. Joe was born in Canton, China and immigrated to Canada in his early 20s. He settled in Minnedosa with his parents, who operated a small Chinese Food Restaurant. He eventually moved to Winnipeg and ran the Lotus Restaurant in St. Vital for many years, making some very special friends along the way. Together with his wife Gwen, they later operated the Cafe Royale Restaurant and the Golden Sun Restaurant. He enjoyed watching football and hockey, and especially enjoyed his Sunday afternoons at Assiniboia Downs. The family wishes to express sincere thanks to the nurses and staff at West Park Manor. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, July 2 at 10:00 a.m. in Kerrs on Broadway, 669 Broadway. Interment will follow in Brookside Cemetery. KERRS ON BROADWAY 669 Broadway - 943-6688
