MARGARET TRAVERSE March 18, 1923 - June 26, 2003 Peacefully on June 26, 2003, Margaret Traverse of Fisher River Personal Care Home (Jackhead), went home to be with the Lord, at the age of 80 years. Margaret leaves to cherish her memories, her daughter Olga (Charles) Ross; sons, Miles, William "Bill" (Sonia), Henry (Beverly), Roddy (Deanna), Melvin (Elaine), Dave (Glenda) and Clarence (Laverne) numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; also many nieces, nephews and other relatives. Margaret was predeceased by her husband, Arthur Traverse; three sons, George, Albert and Daniel; step-daughter Isabel Murdock; two sisters and one brother; and her parents, Joe and Louisa Sinclair. Margaret lived most of her life in Jackhead, where she raised her family. She was a born-again Christian, and she loved to help her community by cooking for gatherings and other events. She was a church elder, who was greatly respected. Margaret loved her children and grandchildren, and taught them her Christian family values. She will always be loved and remembered. The family extends their sincere thanks to the Fisher River Personal Care Home staff and residents for their love and care of our mom. Also to the Kinonjeashtegon First Nation Chief and Council and community for all their help at this time, and the Fisher River Cree Nation Chief and Council. Wake services will be held on Saturday, June 28 at 8:00 p.m. and Sunday, June 29 at 8:00 p.m. Funeral service will be held on Monday, June 30 at 1:00 p.m. All services will be held at the Kinonjeoshregon Community Hall, Jackhead, MB., with Pastor Barney Ross and Pastor Joe Traverse. Interment will follow at the St. James Anglican Cemetery. "I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing."
