MYRTLE ISABELLA WILLIMENT (nee HARDE) Our beloved mother, Myrtle Isabella Williment passed away on Wednesday, June 25, 2003 at the Boyne Lodge in Carman. The eldest daughter of George and Violet Harde, Myrtle was born in Vermilion, AB., May 2, 1916. In 1923 the family moved to Manitoba and took up farming in the Opawaka district. Myrtle grew up and raised her family on the farm, moving to Miami in 1978 and then to Carman in 1999. Myrtle married Edgar Williment on December 7, 1940, and in their 62 years together they had 5 children, George, Donald, Lorne, Harvey, and Russel. Mom spent most of her years as a homemaker, and enjoyed time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Grandma always had the time for a game of cards or Chinese checkers with visiting grandchildren. Mom took an active role in the community, as a long-standing member of the Miami agricultural society, United church, UCW, judging at fairs and the Miami drop in center. Her many talents included gardening, quilting, crocheting, knitting, and playing the piano and accordion. Mom was a generous person ready to help anyone in need or to volunteer within the community. Her passion to quilt has left the family with many beautiful keepsakes. Myrtle leaves to mourn her passing her beloved husband Edgar; sons, Donald (Beverly), Lorne (Beverley), Harvey (Linda), Russel (Anne) grandchildren, Keith (Shawna), Jackie (Trevor), Wayne (Carla), Marlys (Barry), Kenneth (Missy), Kevin (Lee-Ann), David, Gary, and Cindy; great-grandchildren, Ashley, Raleigh, Travis, Justin, and Taylor; brothers, Gordon (Margaret), Norman, Keith (Sharon), and Ken (Leola) sisters, Hazel, Alice, June, and Gradys (Jim). Predeceased by infant son George, grandson Dwayne, sister Clara and brother Roy. The family would like to thank the homecare staff at Evergreen Place and all the staff of the Boyne Lodge for all their support and care of mom over the last four years. Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, July 1 at 1:30 p.m. at the Miami Community Hall with Allison Halstead officiating. Interment will take place in the Miami Cemetery. If friends so desire, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Boyne Lodge Box 1644, Carman MB R0G 0J0.
