JOHN TRAFIAK 1926 - 2003 On Saturday, June 28, 2003, John Trafiak passed away at his residence. He was predeceased by his parents, Mary and John Trafiak, brothers Peter, Mike, Bill and Fred; sisters Anne Hlatkey and Rosie Bejzyk. He is survived by his loving wife Mildred "chicken" of 51 years, daughter Debra and grandson Steven; brother Nick (Stella), Alex (Diane) sisters Jean Marynuik (John), Olga Shupenia, Stella Galawan (Mike), also sister-in-laws Edna, Helen and Mary Trafiak. Special niece Joan and husband Rudy Kalupar and children Lisa (Del), Cheryl (Darren) and Rudy Jr. as well as numerous nieces and nephews. John was born in Komarno, MB, one of 13 children in the family. He worked as a Miner in Red Lake and Sudbury ON. Later, he moved back to Manitoba, where he became a career truck driver with Reimer Express until retirement. Not only did he enjoy his scratch tickets, he also liked gardening, yardwork, flowers and walked many miles everyday. He spent many years at the Whiteshell cottage or the Komarno farm. Evening prayers will be held on Wednesday, July 2 at 7:00 p.m. in the chapel of Glen Eden Funeral Home, 4477 Main St. Funeral service also at the chapel on Thursday, July 3 at 10:00 a.m. Interment at Glen Eden Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Joe McManus, Rudy Kalupar Sr., Rudy Kalupar Jr., Alex Trafiak, Kenny Trafiak, Del Rentiol. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Ronald McDonald House, 566 Bannatyne Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3A 0G7 or to ones choice.
