KENNETH E. WEBSTER M.D. F.R.C.P. (C) April 24, 1930 - June 28, 2003 It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of our dearly beloved Ken. After a lengthy battle with cancer, Ken passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family. He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years Monica (nee Mark) daughters, Wendy and Zane (Dale) survive him. He was predeceased by his youngest daughter Jeannine Karlstedt, his sister Babs, and brother Ronald. He also leaves to mourn his sister Trudy Peters; and brother Rolph of England; four grandchildren, Geoff, Salimah Shannon (Yasin), Darryl and Taze; and five great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, cousins and other family members. Ken came to Canada in 1957 where he studied medicine at the University of Manitoba. He graduated in 1963 and specialized in child psychiatry. He was Chief Provincial Psychiatrist in Manitoba for a number of years. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was also a keen jazz enthusiast, and also enjoyed playing with The Winnipeg Steel Orchestra of which he was a member, and where he forged many bonds of friendship. In lieu of flowers, the family request that donations be made in memory of Ken to CancerCare Manitoba Foundation, 1160 - 675 McDermot Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3E 0V9. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, July 3 at 11:00 a.m. at the Assiniboia Christian Centre, 3390 Portage Ave. Reception to follow. Dr. Webster was a big part of my childhood and had a big influence in who I am today which is great. Although I did bump into him many years later at the Health Sciences Centre, cherish that moment, would love to know where he is laid to rest so I may go pay my respects personally, I can be reached on Facebook.
