ERNST SCHEERLE August 20, 1920 - June 25, 2003 It is with deep sadness that we announce the sudden death of Ernst Scheerle on June 25, 2003. He was predeceased by his youngest son Horst in 1989, brothers, Karl, Heinrich and Willie; and sister Annelise. Dad is survived by his wife Erna (Bethania Personal Care Home), oldest son Peter (Lesley), grandchildren, Cameron and Bradford, great-grandson Kyle, daughter-in-law Cheryl, grandchildren, Kelly and Kevin and great-grandchildren, Austin and Taylor. Also surviving are brothers, Herman, Walter, Alfred and sister Marie and their families, all of Germany. Ernst, Erna, Peter and Horst emigrated from Germany in 1954 and for the most part made their lives in Winnipeg. They were a close and loving family and badly shaken at the early accidental death of Horst in 1989. Known affectionately as "Pops" he found happiness in the simple joys of spending mornings in his garden, or puttering in the garage or basement. He was a devoted visitor and helper at the Bethania Personal Care Home, assisting his wife, staff and residents during daily snack and meal times. His helpfulness and cheerfulness will be greatly missed by all who knew him and by special friend Wanda and family. At his request, cremation has taken place and the family gathered in memory.
