ROBERT CHARLES SWAIN Peacefully on Thursday, June 26, 2003 after a brief but determined battle with cancer, Bob Swain passed away. He will be lovingly remembered by his sons, Keith (Lynn), Don (Barb) and Gary (Kathleen) his brother Gordon (Jean) and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his loving wife of 55 years, Phyllis, in June 1997. Bob was born on June 24, 1920 and resided in Winnipeg most of his life. He worked in the electronics field for many enjoyable years at CAE and the University of Winnipeg, retiring in 1985. Those who knew Bob marvelled at his diverse interests in art, music and electronics. He had a natural curiosity and an inquisitive nature. His contagious sense of humour will be sadly missed by friends and family alike. Very special thanks to the nurses and staff of 4 South at Grace Hospital for their compassionate care and support that eased the final weeks. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held on Thursday, July 3 at 11:00 a.m. at Garry Memorial Funeral Home, 1291 McGillivray Blvd. Flowers are gratefully declined, should friends so desire, donations in Bobs name can be made to the Grace General Hospital Foundation, 300 Booth Dr., Winnipeg, R3J 3M7.
