VERONA PAWLIUK (POLLOCK) April 21, 1911 - July 1, 2003 Peacefully, on Tuesday, July 1, 2003, Verna Pawliuk, aged 92 years, our loving sister, aunt and friend passed away at Deer Lodge Centre. She was predeceased by her parents, George and Dora; brothers, John, Tom, Mike, Fred, Sid; and sisters, Kathleen and Gertrude. She will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her sisters, Jay, Clara, Betty and Donna; brothers, Alex, Nick and Andrew; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends, all of whom she loved dearly. After the passing of her father, Verna took on the responsibility of supporting and helping her mother take care of the family. For many years she was an employee of General Bakeries and then worked for the City Centre Hotel. She was an original member of the Holy Trinity Ukrainian Orthodox Cathedral and an active member of the Ladies Auxiliary. Vernas door was always open and everyone was welcome. She was and is still loved by family and all those fortunate to have known her. We will all remember her wonderful qualities and her great sense of humour. The family would like to thank everyone at the Deer Lodge Centre for the care and comfort given to Verna over the past years. Funeral service will be held on Friday, July 4 at 10:00 a.m. at the Ukrainian Orthodox Metropolitan Cathedral of the Holy Trinity, 1175 Main St., with Very Rev. H. Lakusta officiating. Interment will follow in Brookside Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, donations may be made in Vernas memory to a charity of ones choice.
