Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryNEIL DUNCAN KEITH July 26, 1930 - July 1, 2003 Peacefully on Tuesday morning, July 1, 2003 after a brief but determined battle with cancer, Neil Duncan Keith passed away at the age of 72 years. Neil was born July 26, 1930. He grew up and lived his entire life in Headingley, where he maintained the family farm. In addition to being a full-time farmer, Neil worked for the City of Winnipeg until his retirement after 30 years of service. Neil was predeceased by his parents, John and Annie; sister Doreen (Bob) Strachen; sister-in-law Eileen (Lester) Keith; brother-in-law Ed (Kathleen) McQuire; brother-in-law Alex (Alice) Haxton. Neil will be lovingly remembered and dearly missed by his wife, Blanche; stepchildren, Richard (Brenda) Hebert, Carolyn (Neil) Winter, Jeanne (Tim) Hatch, Mary Ellen (Jeff) Dueck; by his 10 grandchildren, in whom he took much pride, Lindsay, Jason (Jen), Jordan, Tammie, Andrew, Nicholas, Katharine, Elizabeth, Laura and Logan; his brother and sisters, Alice, Lester, Kathleen, Jean (Ray) and by his many nieces, nephews, family and friends. Neil was a member of the ANAVET 283. Throughout his life he enjoyed travelling and was an avid bowler and golfer. Neil spent many wonderful summers at the cottage at Victoria Beach fishing and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. Neil could always be counted on to volunteer at special events such as Folklorama, the Pan-Am Games, the Indigenous Games, the World Senior Softball Championships, and Golden West Centennial Lodge. Neil was very active in the Headingley United Church and took great pride in being part of their annual Dinner Theatre. Sincere thanks to Neils good friend Ben Russenholt; also Ruth Keep, Becky Ammeter, Home Care, Helen Whetter and Les McCann for all the help, love and support they gave to Neil and Blanche. The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to Dr. Harris, Dr. Smart, the staff at the Grace Cancer Clinic and fourth floor staff of Grace General Hospital. A memorial service will be held on Monday, July 7 at 11:00 a.m. at Headingley United Church at 110 Bridge Rd. All friends will be considered honorary pallbearers. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that a donation be made in Neils memory to the Palliative Care Unit of the Grace Hospital or the Headingley United Church "Garden of Memories".
