Rose was born in Hochstadt, MB. She attended a country school and at an early age went to Winnipeg to seek employment. She married in 1944 and raised her family with strength and guidance until her last days. She was an extremely hard worker and demonstrated equality long before the Womens Lib movement. Rose enjoyed womens baseball in Giroux in her younger days, and later she took up curling, especially enjoying bonspiels. Family always came first with Rose and she always made sure that whatever she gave to one was equalled by something to another. She loved us all the same - lots. Until poor health slowed her down, she loved travelling across Canada, visiting her children and grandchildren. Last August was her last holiday when she spent a week at Dauphin Beach celebrating sisterfest, a reunion of her five daughters. Rose was a life member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Royal Canadian Legion in Steinbach. The Funeral Service will be held Saturday, July 5, 2:00 p.m. at Birchwood Funeral Chapel, Steinbach, MB., with viewing one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to a charity of ones choice. Special thanks to Aunt Irene for being with her at the end. The family also wishes to express their sincere appreciation to the staff at River East Personal Care Home for the dedication and devotion that they showered on Rose during her stay there.
