Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryRICHARD (DICK) ALBERT EBBITT 1913 - 2003 MARJORIE KATHLYN EBBITT (nee HESS) 1915 - 2003 Peacefully, in his 90th year, Dad passed away June 28, 2003 at Grace Hospital with family by his side. Peacefully, in her 89th year, Mom passed away July 2, 2003 at Grace Hospital with family by her side. After 56 years of marriage, Mom proved she was not going to leave Dad alone for long, as her spirit joined Dads within four days. They will be lovingly remembered by their son Jim (Melody) and daughter Arlene (Ray) Greening; and granddaughters, Jenn (Greening), Kristy (Greening), Lori (Ebbitt), Kim (Greening), and Michelle (Ebbitt). Dad was predeceased by his brother, Harold. Mom was predeceased by her brothers, Lloyd and Orville; and sister Iolene (Munroe). She is survived by her brother Lyle (Eleanor) Hess. Dad worked most of his life for Eatons, except for his service during the Second World War, retiring in 1978. Mom also worked for Eatons except for time to raise her family, retiring in 1979. After retirement, they enjoyed wintering in White Rock, BC or Brownsville, TX for several years. They most enjoyed spending time together with family at their cottage at Sandy Hook where Dad also loved to golf until age 81. They especially enjoyed their trip to Hawaii with Arlene and her family. Brent thanks Grandpa for hanging on until he could return to say his goodbye and be there for Jenn. The family would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to Dr. Donnelly, nurses and staff of ICU and 5North (especially Shirley, Bev, Joyce, and Jayne) at Grace Hospital for the care and comfort provided to Mom and Dad and compassion towards the family. Special thanks to Dr. Van Horne and Cathy for all the wonderful care and compassion shown through the years. In keeping with their wishes, joint cremation has taken place followed by a private family ceremony. Due to their great love of animals and Dads COPD, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Winnipeg Humane Society or the Manitoba Lung Association. Rest in peace, together, as always CHAPEL LAWN FUNERAL HOME Cemetery and Crematorium in care of arrangements.
