SIGVALD MAGNUS OVERGAARD

Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemorySIGVALD MAGNUS OVERGAARD Sigvald passed quietly away on July 1, 2003 in the evening at the Maples Personal Care Home. He was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Haakon Overgaard. He was a member of Our Saviours Lutheran Church which he and his father helped to build. He worked with his father at an early age in grain elevator construction, helping his father to design and build the Altona Cooperative Vegetable Oil Plant. He also worked for United Grain Growers as construction manager, and at the Pinawa Nuclear Plant as supervisor. He was involved with the work being done on the expansion of the University of Winnipeg. Later, he worked as Contract Manager for the Treasury Board with the Federal Government. Sig was always willing to help people in need, and showed his thoughtfulness and kindness in many ways. Sig was predeceased by his brothers, Herman and Edmund. He is survived by his brother Dagg (Pat) sister Hjordis; sisters-in-law, Barbara Overgaard and Florence Overgaard; nieces and nephews; and a cousin. In lieu of flowers, should friends so desire, donations to Our Saviours Lutheran Church or the Canadian Diabetes Association, 102 - 310 Broadway, Winnipeg, MB R3C 0S6, would be appreciated. He will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered. A service will be held on Wednesday, July 9 at 1:00 p.m. at Our Saviours Lutheran Church, 600 Minto St. Arrangements entrusted to: CHAPEL LAWN FUNERAL HOME CEMETERY AND CREMATORIUM 885-9715
