BERNICE SAFINIUK Peacefully, on July 2, 2003 at Fred Douglas Lodge, a day before her 91st birthday, Bernice Safiniuk Babchi passed away. Bernice was born on July 3, 1912 in Transcona, MB. She was predeceased by her husband John Safiniuk on June 6, 1983, her parents, Mary and Nick Homenick and her brother John. She leaves to cherish her memory, her two daughters, Joan (Barrie) Gentes, Joyce (Ron) Hnatiuk; her son Richard (Sonia) Safiniuk; six grandchildren, Joanne Hoffman, Ron Gentes, Darren Kulik (Daniela), Glenn (Mary Ann) Kulik, Ken Safiniuk and Brad (Koleen) Safiniuk; four great-grandchildren, Tara and Jennifer Hoffman, Riley and Brittney Kulik; and one sister Pauline (Bert) Adair. Mom loved her family picnics at Grand Beach and Winnipeg Beach. Sewing and bingo were her past time activities, but most of all took great pride in her cooking and her garden. She loved and cherished the many visits from her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. The family would like to extend special thanks to the staff at Fred Douglas Lodge, especially Willow Unit for their special care and compassion they gave to our Mom. Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, July 5 at 10:00 a.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. Interment will follow at All Saints Cemetery.
