RICHARD FRANKLIN WALDEN Peacefully on Monday, June 30, 2003 at the Sunnywood Manor, Pine Falls, MB. Richard passed away at the age of 87 years. Lovingly remembered by his sisters, Margaret Dankowski (Joe), of Pine Falls, MB, Katherine Bohonis (Joe) of Prawda, MB; brother Clarence Neismen (Betty) of Surrey BC; sisters-in-law, Barbara and Anne Neismen of Moose Jaw, SK; 10 nieces and nephews and their families. Richard was born in Brenham, Texas on January 29, 1916. At a very early age his natural father Richard Walden Sr. passed away. Richard and his mother traveled by wagon to Saskatchewan to stay with his mothers relatives where upon his mother met Joseph Neismen. She later married him and they raised Richard and they had other children. Richard was predeceased by his parents, Wilhelmina and Joseph Neismen; infant sister; brothers, Edward, Leo, Arthur, Gordon all of Moose Jaw, SK. As a young man he farmed the homestead in Ardill, SK and surrounding areas. Later he worked for the Saskatchewan Department of Highways as a Caterpillar Operator. In the winter months Richard would often visit with his sisters in Manitoba and brother in British Columbia. After his retirement he moved to Moose Jaw, SK. He enjoyed playing pool, Bingo, Bowling and eating at the Chinese restaurant for his favourite bowl of soup. Richard will be fondly remembered as a loving brother and uncle, he will be sadly missed by all. Cremation has taken place and a Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, July 6 at 2:00 p.m. from the Royal Canadian Legion No. 64, Pine Falls, MB with a light lunch to follow. The family extends a heartfelt thank you to Dr. Vanrooyen and all of the Staff of the Sunnywood Manor for their care and compassion during Richards stay.
