JOHN DAVID JONES (JOHNNY) July 17, 1922 - July 3, 2003 At the Grace General Hospital, John (Johnny) Jones died at the age of 80 years. John will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 58 years June; son Laird (Janice) and grandchildren, Amethyst (Kris), Beryl and great-granddaughter Eloise. John was born and raised in Winnipeg. He was a member of the 11th Winnipeg Cubs, Scouts and Rover Crew. In Johns 20th year he joined the Royal Canadian Navy, served in the North Atlantic on the HMCS Wascana. After he returned from the war he started his career in the Automotive Industry, working at Beaties Auto Electric, Franks Automotive and Piston Ring. He was a member of Winnipeg Wandering Wheels, English Speaking Union, and the White Ensign. John loved to listen to music, he was a loving family man and would lend a helping hand to anyone, anytime. Memorial service will be held on Tuesday July 8 at 11:00 a.m. in St. Aidans Anglican Church, 274 Campbell, with Reverend Ken Turnbull officiating.
