Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryCOLIN ALBERT GLANFIELD Colin Albert Glanfield of Calgary, passed away suddenly and peacefully at the Foothills Hospital on July 2, 2003 at the age of 83 years. He is the loving father of a son, Brian and daughter, Signy (David) Scutter of Winnipeg, MB; granddaughters, Charlene and Gillian, great-granddaughter, Tunyia; sister Sheila (Roy) Mason of England; sister-in-law Solla Hebert of Selkirk, MB; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Colin was predeceased by his wife Violet in 1999. He was also predeceased by his parents, Albert and Beatrice and in-laws, Einar and Gudrun Thorvaldson. While growing up, Colin was active in the Boys Scouts in England and continued on with his involvement after moving to Canada. Colin served in the R.A.F. in England and was transferred to Canada where he met and later married his wife Violet in 1942. After the war, Colin worked at Anthes Western and Canron as a chartered accountant until he retired. Upon retirement, Colin and Violet became avid world travellers and campers. Colin was an active member of the Legion in Winnipeg and Edmonton and for the past 30 years at Branch 285 in Calgary. A Memorial Service will be held in the Chapel of Mountain View Funeral Home on Wednesday, July 9 at 10:00 a.m. Graveside services to follow at Mountain View Memorial Gardens. If so desired, a memorial tribute may be made in Colins name directly to the Alberta Heart and Stroke Foundation, 1825 Park Road S.E., Calgary, AB, T2G 3Y6.
