Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryGENOWEFA BILAS Peacefully on Friday, July 4, 2003, at the Seven Oaks Hospital, Genowefa passed away at 90 years of age. She was predeceased by her parents, brother-in-law Emil Terlecki and nephew Leon Terlecki. Genowefa will be lovingly remembered by her beloved sister Olga Terlecki; niece Lily Stefanick and husband Bob; niece Gail Terlecki and sons, Allan and Danny Terlecki. She will also be sadly missed by her many friends at the Polish Manor, 300 Selkirk Ave., as well as friends in Poland. Genowefa was born in Stanislawow, Poland on December 13, 1912. Having survived a lot of difficult times, including the Second World War, her sister finally located her in Katowice and brought her to Canada. She arrived in Winnipeg in December of 1965. The sisters had not seen each other for 38 years. Genowefa was an excellent seamstress who worked in the garment industry until her retirement. She was a strong-willed, independent, religious lady. Genowefas love of travel took her to various places in Canada, United States, Europe and on a Caribbean cruise. She also loved to read, sew, knit, do petit-point, shop and socialize with family and friends. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, July 9, at 10:30a.m. at Holy Ghost Roman Catholic Church, 341 Selkirk Ave., with an Oblate Father officiating. Viewing will be held hour prior to the Mass. Interment will follow at Holy Ghost Cemetery. The family would like to thank her wonderful homecare worker, Helena for taking such good care of our sister and aunt.
