Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryPETER PESTRICK 1926 - 2003 With heartfelt sadness, we announce the passing of our dear father, grandfather and great-grandfather, after a courageous battle with cancer on July 5, 2003. He will be very deeply missed by his sons, Chris (Linda) and Peter John; grand-children, Tracy (Roger) Murray, Sandra Pestrick and fiance Jeremy Jeffrey; great-grandchildren, Christine and Samuel Murray; brothers, John (Jean) Pestrick, Jim (Margaret) Pestrak, Stan Pestrak; sister Chris (Art) Singbeil; sisters-in-law, Evelyn Pestrak and Marlene Pestrak; numerous nieces and nephews. Peter was predeceased by his loving wife Elizabeth (Betty) (nee Sawchuk) on March 30, 2001; sisters, Mary (Jim) Selluski, Sophie Pestrak, Olga (Mike) Scoby, Katie (Henry) Singbeil, Pauline (Erik) Carlson; brothers, Fred Pestrak, Mike Pestrak; sister-in-law Ruby Pestrak. Peter was born in Fraserwood, MB on January 18, 1926. He left home and went to work at a very young age, so he could help support his younger brothers and sisters because of hard times. Peter joined the army and served his country overseas in the Second World War. He married Betty in 1948 and they settled in Winnipeg. Peter worked at Burns Meats Ltd. the majority of his life. He retired in 1988 and then had time to do fishing, gardening, berry picking and playing with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Many thanks to the doctors and staff of the Health Sciences Centre for their care and kindness. According to Peters wishes, cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held on Wednesday, July 9, at 2:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. CROPO FUNERAL CHAPEL 586-8044
