MARK JEFFERY ZUCKERMAN Very unexpectedly and peacefully Mark Zuckerman passed away on Saturday, June 28, 2003 at the Health Sciences Centre. Mark was born in Winnipeg on December 17, 1946. He was predeceased by his father Bob Zuckerman and father-in-law Peter Kowalchuk. He leaves to mourn his loving wife Margie; mother Olive Zuckerman; brother Barry (Carol) sister Sondra Kelly (Ron) and their son Max; sister Shelley Friesen (Ken Anderson) and her children Kyle and Jessica; mother-in-law Mary Kowalchuk. Mark and Margie were married for 32 years but their loving relationship had begun much earlier as they had been teenage sweethearts and have been together heart and soul for 40 years. Mark loved sharing with Margie his summers spent at home by the pool and winters on the beach in Mexico and Hawaii. In the summers their favourite drive was to Gimli to walk around and then have dinner. Mark worked at C.P. Railway for 28 years and on his retirement began a second career with the Corps of Commissionaires. Mark was an extremely personable man who enjoyed discussion about a wide range of subjects. A story told by anyone else was just a story, but Mark would be able to enthrall a group and invariably make them laugh. Without trying he often became the centre of attention with his wit, great sense of humour and strong opinions about life. Over the years one of his great passions was his love of boxing. Not only did he become very knowledgeable on the history and the technical aspects of the sport, he himself enjoyed the training as part of his daily exercise routine. His wife Margie would like to say a "special" thank-you to Dr. Drachenberg and Dr. Milner and staff on GH3 for the support and excellent care he was given. A private service was held in accordance with Marks wishes. In lieu of flowers, a memorial donation in Marks name may be made to the CancerCare Manitoba Foundation, 787-4143, or the Winnipeg Humane Society. With a broken heart I whisper low, I love you Mark and I miss you so - Margie CROPO FUNERAL CHAPEL 586-8044
