JAMES (JIM) S. ANDERSON Our much loved husband, father, and grandfather Jim Anderson, died suddenly on Friday, July 4, 2003, while camping with his family in Snow Lake, Manitoba. Jim is survived by his wife of 56 years Tina; his three children, Bev (Pat), Harvey (Deb) and Nancy and his grandchildren, Courtney, Drew, Paige, and Quinn. He also leaves his sister Jacqueline, his cousins in Winnipeg Jean-Marie and David, and many other special relatives and friends. Jim will also be missed by his dog Mojo. Jim was born on August 6, 1923 in Winnipeg. His early life was spent in Winnipeg and in various locations in Ontario. As a young man he enlisted in the army and served overseas as a dispatcher in the Second World War. He was very honoured to have been part of the liberating forces at Arnhem, Holland. After the war, Dad learned the boilermaker trade and was a proud member of the Boilmakers Union, local 555 until he retired in 1986. In the last few days, our family has had the chance to talk about all the wonderful things that we shared with and received from Dad. His sense of humour, his extraordinary skills as a craftsman and handyman, and his practical approach to politics, social issues, and all of lifes different joys, challenges, and opportunities. A Service to honour Jim will be held on Thursday, July 10 at 11:00 a.m. in Green Acres Funeral Chapel, Hwy. No. 1 E. at Navin Rd. Honorary pallbearers are Harvey Anderson, Courtney Anderson, Drew Anderson, Quinn Anderson, David Auld, Pat Collins, and Wayne Pishak. Flowers are gratefully declined. If so desired, Jim would have appreciated a donation to The Childrens Wish Foundation. Many thanks to John, Bernice and family for their support during a most difficult time. We also appreciate the kind assistance of the many good Samaritans at the campsite. GREEN ACRES Funeral Home, Cemetery and Crematorium Hwy. No. 1 E. at Navin, 222-3241
