FANNY CALOF Born May 20, l901 in London, England. Died Monday, July 7, 2003. Preceded in death by husband, Rock and brother, Allan Pullmer. Beloved mother of Joan Calof of St. Paul, MN, Enid Stevens of Stinson Beach, CA. She is also survived by three grandchildren, Beth and Daniel Stevens and Gwen Neidlinger, all of Los Angeles and three great-grandsons, as well as her sister-in-law, Sylvia Pullmer and her nephew, Lewis Pullmer. A graduate of St. Johns High and Normal School, she taught school for six years until she married. She loved the arts: A lifelong pianist, she played on radio in the 1920s. When her husband Rock entered Misericordia Hospital, she volunteered to play the piano there. After his death, she continued to volunteer as a pianist for many organizations. When she entered the Sharon Home in l993 she continued to play. Her first love was jazz and popular music. As a young woman, she painted in oils. As a homemaker, she designed and sewed clothing for her family. And at 70 she took up pottery, winning a prize at the Manitoba Exposition. Services will be held 11:30 a.m., Thursday, July 10 at the Sharon Home, 146 Magnus Ave. Following the burial at the Shaarey Zedek Cemetery, a meal of consolation will be held at the Sharon Home. Memorials preferred to donors choice.
