Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJOSEPH ROBERT KISILEWICH March 31, 1947 - July 7, 2003 It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Joseph (Joey) Kisilewich of Selkirk, MB., on Monday, July 7, 2003 at the age of 56 years. Joseph was born in Selkirk on March 31, 1947. He attended Happy Thought School in East Selkirk where he lived his childhood years. "Joey" as he was known to his family, is survived by his brother Ed Kisilewich (Gail) of Niagara Falls, ON.; and his sister Adeline Helwer (Ed) of Teulon, MB.; his stepbrother and cousin Peter Kurtis (Pat) of Armstrong, BC.; and nieces, Michelle, Julie, Wendy, Bonnie, Kristy, April, Bonnie and nephew Taras, ex-wife Debbie; sons, Gerald and Robert; Aunt Sophie and many cousins and families. He was predeceased by his parents, Joe and Julia and his twin sister Malvena (Wood). Joey worked hard at various jobs, and was employed at Red River Brick and Tile (I-XL Indust.) at Lockport for over 18 years where he made many friends. In 1987 he was proud to purchase a mobilehome at Highway Gardens Trailer Park, at Lockport where he lived until his disabilities forced him to move to Fox Ave. (former Rotary Manor) in Selkirk. He so loved his comfortable bachelor suite and treasured the love and support he got from his new friends and home care community. Joey loved to fish, it was his passion and heaven on earth. Joey also loved music and was an excellent dancer. Joey was handy at anything electrical and spent many hours fixing old things and making them run. He was also a barber and a bartender. Joey was a special, unique person. He found inner joy and happiness in making others around him laugh and be happy. This gave him the courage and strength he needed to face his difficult days. The family wishes to extend heartfelt thanks to all the doctors, nurses, home care and support staff and "special friends" that stood by Joseph and loved him for who he was. Prayers will be said on Friday, July 11 at 7:00 p.m. at Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk. Funeral mass will be celebrated on Saturday, July 12 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Stanislaus Roman Catholic Church, East Selkirk, with Father Bouvier officiating. Interment to follow in the Parish Cemetery, East Selkirk. MB. Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk 1-204-482-3271
