CARL MACAULAY It is with deep regret that we announce the passing of Carl Macaulay on Sunday, July 6, 2003. Carl will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by his sons, Ken and wife Brenda, Kevin and wife Wendi; grandchildren, Samantha, Lauryn and Liam; and sister Marion (Teddy) Jones. Carl was predeceased by his wife Jean on September 20, 1996; parents, Harold and Florence; brothers, Roy and Arnold. Carl was born and raised in St. John, NB. In his late teens he joined the Royal Canadian Air Force and began a life and career filled with travel and adventure. Some of his fondest memories were of times spent travelling and camping with family and friends while posted in Germany. After 31 years of dedicated service he retired from the Air Force in 1981 and began working for the Department of National Defence Headquarters in Winnipeg. In 1991 Carl retired from the D.N.D. and was able to spend more time with Jean visiting family in Sandy Lake, camping in Manitobas many provincial parks, enjoying trips to P.E.I., Las Vegas, the Black Hills and Scotland. When Carl became a grandfather there was a renewed sparkle in his eyes. His grandchildren helped to fill the void left by Jeans passing and they continued to bring him much joy! Carl could always be counted on by friends and family if help was needed. He was a kind, gentle and honest man with a no-nonsense approach and a great sense of humour. The family would like to thank the doctors and nursing staff at Grace Hospital (3rd floor) for their kind and compassionate care. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, July 10 at 7:00 p.m. at Garry Memorial, 1291 McGillivray Blvd., with Rev. Bruce Faurschou officiating. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, donations in Carls memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society. LEATHERDALE GARDINER Funeral Chapel - St. James - 949-4872
