Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryALAIN GUY CORMIER After a long and courageous battle with cancer, Alain Cormier passed away on July 7, 2003 with family at his side. Alain was born in La Salle, MB on February 20, 1930 and moved to St. Claude in 1953. Alain was predeceased by his son Louis; his brothers, Ben, Camille and Aime; his sister Therese; and his parents, Charles and Sophie. He will be greatly missed by his wife Agnes (Arbez) his children, Michele (Mike), Paul (Jeannette), Denis (Kathy) and Renee (Paul) his grandchildren, Colin, Zacharie, Stefan and Danielle; his relatives and friends. Alain conceived, designed, and helped build the largest smoking pipe now a well-known landmark in St. Claude. He enjoyed and supported the St. Claude Museum and was an avid stamp collector trading with other philatelists around the world. He also loved to work in the yard and garden and share the harvest with friends and neighbours. Alain enjoyed playing cards. Many family discussions were held around the kitchen table over a rousing game of 500. Many will remember him for his relentless passion for sport fishing with friends and family. The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the nurses, doctors, and staff of St. Claude Palliative Care for the care and comfort provided during Alains illness. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that a donation be made to the St. Claude Palliative Care Unit. With respect for Alains wishes, cremation has taken place. Funeral mass will be celebrated in the St. Claude Roman Catholic Church on Friday, July 11 at 2:00 p.m., with Fr. Rodrigue Bouchard officiating. Interment to follow in the parish cemetery.
